I heard back from MA35, and they want me to send a letter to formally change my application to a Family Reunification (dependant). I know that I still can’t assume that they are likely to allow me to live in Austria. However, I had hoped that they would have taken my tertiary qualifications in Sciences into account and my previous research contributions as a postdoc in Austria before I got unwell.
Of course my main concern at the moment is to remain with my partner so that I don’t become homeless. But I really wish to study for a Fine Arts degree in Vienna next year (potentially 2026-7) with the intention to retrain (and research) as an artist. Assuming I was offered the residence permit (without the right to work) would this allow me to study at a university or would I have to apply for a student visa?
