I am starting a job in Austria in August and am trying to find out how much it would cost to drive my UK-registered car over and register it in Austria. Can anyone help me with exactly what needs to be paid as I am not clear if any import taxes or VAT are payable on a second hand vehicle I already own.

Sorry, I didn’t see this. There is an article on our website that covers this. Do not understimate the cost of doing this, the main thing you will get stung with is the NoVA tax and that depends on the WLTP CO2 value of your vehicle. You may also need to change things like the headlamps and other things to make it roadworthy in Austria.
