        Hello everyone

Me and my wife are looking to potentially relocate in Vienna and raise our kids. I’ve lived in London for 17 years and my wife for 6 and thinking that Vienna might be a better place to raise a family. We are interested to read your experience if you were in a similar situtation and understand the key differences of raising a family in London vs in Vienna.
Thank you so much in advance for your time, looking forward to hear from you!

        Kind Regards
        Giorgos & Evi

Hi, I don’t have kids but I moved from Kent to Lower Austria. Austria is a lovely country but there are a few things that you need to be aware of it. It is a Germanic speaking country and although you might get away with speaking English in Vienna, there are a lot of professions that will be off limits if your German language skills are at least B1. You may also have issues getting your UK qualifications recognised. The ease with which you can move here might also depend on your nationality. If you do not have EU Citizenship you will need to find a job first. Our Moving guide might help you to start with:

Plus points – Vienna is easier to get around than London (population of London is probably the same as the whole of Austria). Public transport is really cheap compared to the UK
